Introducing Neurofit to a New Client — Solo Practitioners
For independent providers setting up Neurofit without a clinic admin layer — keep it simple, start small, and scale when you're ready.
Who this is for
You're a solo OT or independent practitioner. You're managing your own client list, billing, and onboarding without admin support. You want to add structured home practice to your toolkit without creating more overhead.

The guiding principle
Start with one client. Get the workflow right. Then add more.
The Starter plan gives you room to learn the platform with real clients before committing to anything. Five active clients per month is enough to run a meaningful pilot and see genuine clinical value — without billing pressure.
How to introduce it
You don't need a full onboarding session. A two-minute in-session walkthrough is enough to get a motivated client activated.
What to say:
"I'm going to add you to a platform I use for home practice exercises. It takes about five minutes, runs on your computer — you'll get an email with a link. I'll be able to track your progress between sessions."
Then, right there in the appointment:
- Add the client from your Dashboard (name + email — that's all that's required)
- Enable their login toggle (green)
- Hit Invite — they'll get the email immediately
- Show them the login URL: activity.neurofit.ca
The whole setup takes under two minutes.
Your first assignment — keep it minimal
As a solo provider, simpler is more sustainable.
| Setting | Starting recommendation |
|---|---|
| Frequency | 2–3× per week |
| Duration | 5 minutes minimum |
| Activity type | One category — whichever aligns with your primary goal |
| Difficulty | Default — you can tune it after the first session |
You can update assignments at any time. There's no penalty for starting basic and adjusting — in fact, first-session data makes your next configuration decision much easier.
Tip: Don't wait until you have the perfect assignment configured before sending the invite. Send the invite, then create the assignment. Both steps take under two minutes each.
Managing your Starter spots
On the Starter plan, you have 5 spots per month. A spot is used when a client logs in — not when you enable them.
This means:
- You can have clients enabled but not yet active without using a spot
- If a client hasn't logged in yet and you want to free up a spot, just pause their toggle — no billing impact
- At the start of each billing cycle, all active counts reset to zero
You're only ever billed (on Pro) for clients who actually log in during that month. Enabling a client doesn't trigger anything.
When you're ready to scale
Once you've seen the workflow with a couple of clients, upgrading to Pro gives you unlimited active clients at CA$35 per client who logs in each month. Providers are always free and unlimited on both plans.
You can upgrade directly from the Billing page in your Dashboard at any time.
What the data gives you
Even with a small caseload, Neurofit generates meaningful clinical information between sessions:
- Performance trends — accuracy and speed across attention, memory, and processing speed over time
- Assignment completion rate — how consistently clients follow through on prescribed home practice
- Mood and effort ratings — self-reported before each session; surfaces frustration, motivation, and effort patterns you wouldn't otherwise see
- Engagement data — login frequency and session timing; useful for progress notes and funding documentation
All data is filterable by date range and exportable as a PDF report or CSV from the client's profile.
Common challenges
"I sent the invite but they haven't logged in." Mention it at the next appointment. A direct verbal reminder outperforms any automated follow-up. Also ask them to check spam — invite emails sometimes land there.
"I want to see what the client sees before recommending it." Set up a test client using a second email address you control. Log in as that client at activity.neurofit.ca, try an activity, and see the experience firsthand. Archive the test client when you're done — all data is preserved and no spot is permanently consumed.
